Courtroom Procedures 2023

Most courtrooms around northern Illinois have now settled into their own appearance procedures. However, there is very little uniformity from courtroom to courtroom as to how or when a Defendant should appear for their court date. Nonetheless, it is the Defendant's responsibility to make sure they are appearing at the correct time, place, and in the correct manner to prevent a warrant being issued for missing a court date. We seek to assist you with very clear communication about when, where, and how to appear for your court date.

Some courtrooms operate entirely in person, some almost entirely by virtual appearances, and many with a combination of the two. In order to ensure that you are appearing in court at the correct time and location, and either in person or via a virtual appearance, please make sure you speak with us ahead of your court date so we can communicate with you about the necessary details.
